2011-12 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

and VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Dear Members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church:

After one of the snowiest winters on record, it is heartening to think that spring is upon us. That means it's time to register for next year's Faith Formation programs!

Here is what you need to know about REGISTRATION:

V REGISTRATION DEADLINE: AUGUST 15, 2011 -- no registrations will be accepted after this date, therefore late fees have been eliminated. We are asking families to please respect the deadline.

V EARLY REGISTRATION INCENTIVE: All registrations received before July 1 will be entered into a drawing from which the names of three families will be drawn. These families will receive FREE FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATION FEES FOR 2011-12! (Free fees do not apply to Sacrament Preparation fees.)

V Fees will remain the same as last year.

V Registrations will be accepted at the final faith formation session of the year, and throughout the summer. Checks will be held for deposit until July 1 (the new fiscal year)

Please read the Faith Formation Handbook carefully to familiarize yourself with information regarding specifics of our Faith Formation programs: registration procedures, discipline information, and Sacramental Preparation guidelines. All families participating in the program are asked to sign the acknowledgement on the back of the registration form stating that you have read and understand the Handbook. Parents are expected to volunteer in at least one area during the faith formation year. Opportunities are listed on the back of the enclosed registration form—please carefully and prayerfully consider how you will help our program succeed.

We have set a tentative schedule for next year. It is:

Session I, K-6: Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3, Jan. 7, Feb. 4, Mar. 3, Apr. 14

Sunday Session, 7-10: Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Dec. 4, Jan. 8, Feb. 5, Mar. 4, Apr. 15

Session II, K-6: Oct. 8, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Jan. 14, Feb. 11, Mar. 17, Apr. 21

Times for sessions will remain the same: K-6, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

7-10, 1:00 – 4:30 pm

Once again, parents with children in grades K-6 are expected to remain in the church for the first hour of Faith Formation sessions for an adult session based on the month’s unit theme. Individual family schedules will be mailed in early September, after registration has closed.

As you are all aware, our parish is currently twinned with Immaculate Conception in Becker, with the ultimate goal to merge in the future. Our Faith Formation committee has already begun meeting with the Faith Formation committee at Immaculate Conception, with an eye toward bringing our two separate programs closer together in terms of requirements, processes, and fees. As these issues continue to develop, we will do our best to keep you informed. Regarding our programs this year, we do not expect to see any changes
