Father Gene Doyle
|
Fr. Gene Doyle was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of St. Cloud on 12 June 1976 at St. Matthew's Church in his home town of Shullsburg, Wisconsin. He is number 7 of 10 children. He grew on a dairy, beef and hog farm. His dad often said that "a dairy cow gave him his vocation to the priesthood!" He would always have to correct his dad by declaring, "It wasn't one cow that gave me my vocation, it was ALL of them!!!"
He began his seminary studies at Holy Name Seminary in Madison, WI and completed them at St. John's University in Collegeville MN.
Fr. Geno has served in five pastoral assignments:
*as associate pastor - St. Peter's parish, St. Cloud (1976-80)
*as associate pastor - St. Mary's parish, Little Falls (1980-83)
*as pastor - St. Gall's parish, Tintah and St. Joseph's parish, Foxhome (1983-88)
*as pastor - Sacred Heart Church, Sauk Rapids (1988-2005)
*as pastor - Our Lady of the Lake, Big Lake (2005- )
